Cala D'Or, Majorca, Balearics, Spain
Cala D'or is very aptly named meaning the Golden Cove. Beautiful sandy beaches fringe small coves and inlets. As it is a popular holiday resort due to the natural beauty it can sometimes get busy in the peak summer months. As most of the beaches are accessible by either a steep hill or flight of stairs it may not be a resort for our less mobile guests.
Chic boutiques, art galleries and craft artesanias abound the resort although most of the shops and restaurants are in the area behind Cala Gran beach. Evening entertainment is best described as low key but there is still a range of music bars and a few clubs to be found in the centre and marina area. There are several good restaurants for that extra special meal or a variety of cafe type restaurants offering inexpensive fare. Daytime activities are mainly centred around the beaches.  Magaluf

Magaluf

Magaluf, Majorca, Balearics, Spain
Magaluf is situated on the island's south west coast. It's a resort renowned for its lively character and vast array of activities, bars and restaurants. The centre has undergone a recent transformation with the addition of pedestrian streets and tree planting to make the centre more appealing. Although it is the enclave of young and lively tourists and families in the peak summer months, it is a surprising haven for our silver surfer guests in the winter months. Magaluf and its neighbour Palma Nova now almost merge into one, although technically the dividing point is somewhere on the rocky headland between the two beaches.
The fine sandy beach is obviously a major reason for its popularity with everything on hand. Watersports, glass bottom boat trips, as well as countless shops, bars and restaurants are all located along the wide promenades. Surprising if you are looking for genuine quality leather goods then Magaluf has probably the best shop on the island called "Belt Up Mallorca" which is English owned and managed .
Wide range of fast food outlets to keep the children happy if you are on a self catering option. Although if you fancy a more traditional style of cuisine neighbouring Palma Nova has a number of more traditional restaurants along the seafront.
During the day you are never very far from something to do, Mini Golf courses, waterparks, Marineland Dolphin Show, Magaluf and Palma Nova have them all.
Good transport links to the rest of the island and numerous taxis are available at reasonable prices.
Nightlife here is described in many brochures as being "lively" or "extrovert". The resort has numerous English style pubs and discos which rarely close till dawn.
Not for those seeking long lazy days on the beach and a quiet and relaxing drink in the evening except perhaps in the winter when the resort takes on a different character.

Paguera

Paguera, Majorca, Balearics, Spain
The resort of Paguera is 35km west of the airport, on the south west coast of Majorca. Transfer time is usually around 3/4 hour - 1 hour.
Paguera is favoured by the German tourist market who do make up the vast majority of visitors here.
Originally a tiny fishing village, although now a vibrant and modern tourist resort with an array of restaurants and facilities. Paguera is a lively resort and not for clients that prefer peace and tranquility, although it is still possible to find peaceful hotel hideaways.
The majority of the hotels in the town are found towards the back in quite a hilly area. Whilst this affords most visitors a good view back over the town, it does make Paguera less suitable for our less mobile clients or young families with pushchairs.
Traffic in high season was always a problem but with the introduction of the new bypass this has now eased the congestion through the resort.
Beaches in the area are moderate light sand although the central ones are narrow in places, they are ideal for children and offer the usual range of watersports. Restaurants abound so you will never go hungry. Nightlife is centred on the many bars and small disco bars in the resort.

The resort has in total three beaches the largest of which is of good sand with an ambundance of terrace bars to while away those hot sunny days. Although perhaps best suited to the younger market in the peak season it is also a popular destination with families and our silver surfers in the winter months.
An abundance of shops and supermarkets will cater for all needs and the weekly market at Calvi is worth a visit. As with any large resort there is a variety of day activities including watersports from the beach. Marineland is only 2 miles away and always a popular favourite with the children.
